Premiership football calls for free musical instrument lessons for children

Following Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford’s public appeal for a meal a day for all pupils in need, it is great to see that another Premiership footballer has spoken out in support of free instrumental tuition for children.

In this article from Classic FM’s website, Wilfried Zaha expresses his belief that “Music can bring so much joy to so many and enabling more children to have access to instruments and teaching can only benefit them.” This is a timely follow up to last week’s story from UK Music, calling on the government to put music ‘front and centre’ of schools’ catch up and the very real concern that many thousands of children have missed out on a start to playing an instrument.
